Had a great time last night. Me and Deanne were joined by Stephan & Sonja; Evelyn & Andrea; and Kerry & Andy.
We ate curry, drank wine, listened to music and talked. We talked about bikes and L'eroica; about spiritualism, hypnotism and mediation; about cameras and photographers (how could I forget Helmut Newton?); about films (the Bellville Rendezvous) and about music.
We listened to CDs, I dug out some old vinyl (CSNY - Deja Vu, Roy Harper - Flat, Baroque and Beserk, and Neil Young - Zuma).
Josh Jake and Beth ate elsewhere, in bedrooms or in front of the TV. Josh went out and returned with friends - who helped themselves to curry and wine.
For the record (and Mike) the dishes were:
Chick peas, aubergines and courgettes, cooked in a tomato sauce with garlic, chilli, coriander, cumin seeds, turmeric and garam masala.
Paneer, peppers and tomatoes cooked in a red wine sauce with cumin seeds, ginger, chilli, garlic, turmeric and coriander
Fried potatoes in a cream and yoghurt sauce with garlic, chilli, ginger, scallions, mint and Patak's Tika Masala paste.
Carrots, green beans, scallions and cashew nuts cooked with cumin, coriander, cardamons, chillies, garlic, honey and lemon.
Evelyn brought dessert with her, a fantastic creamy lime pudding on a chocolate digestive base (a 'Nigella recipe to follow spicey food' I was told) :P
And this morning I woke up and did all the washing up and tidying :-(
